Treasure hunts are one of the few challenges B and I can agree that we both enjoy most of the time. I started making them during the covid pandemic. They’re a great way to get kids out and interacting with nature. Recently, I’ve been asked to make public ones that lots of families can enjoy. This page has details of those, and you can click here if you’d rather read ideas and thoughts about how to make them. You can find details of the Christmas Twinkle Trail here. Trails, Bales and Snails created THE FIVE TREES TREASURE HUNT in the summer of 2025 for St Fagan’s National Museum of History…
Celebration of Nature – 12 July, 2025 10.00-16.00
Food Festival – 13 & 14 September, 2025 10.00-17.00
The Five Trees Treasure Hunt started in the red phone box opposite The Vulcan. Follow all 22 clues and identify the five trees on the way! Get them all and visit the Trails, Bales and Snails stall to claim your prize!
The trail was suitable for all ages and fully accessible with each clue roughly 20-50 metres from the next one. All clues are numbered and in Welsh and English.
The Victoria Square Treasure Hunt was up from 10.30-15.30 on Saturday 7 June. Starting point is by the big yew tree in the community garden. Each clue has a description and a picture and is no more than 30 metres from the following clue… so if in doubt, keep near. Younger kids might need a hand. Good luck! Succeed and find a prize hiding for you…
